Clubs & Co-Curricular Activities – Discover, Explore, Shine.

At Kampala Junior Academy, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our wide variety of clubs and co-curricular activities helps learners explore their talents, build new skills, and enjoy every part of school life. Whether your child enjoys sports, creativity, leadership, or academics — there’s something for everyone!

Celebrations and Special Days

We love to make school fun and memorable! At our Nursery and Primary levels, we celebrate children’s birthdays with joy. We also host exciting Cultural Days and Spirit Days like Pajama Day, Hat Day, and even “Wear Mommy or Daddy’s Clothes” Day! These fun events bring smiles, laughter, and a sense of belonging to our school family.

Weekly Morning Assemblies

Every week begins with a school-wide morning assembly full of music, prayer, and positive energy. We share important announcements, go over the weekly agenda, and give children a chance to build confidence by leading songs, prayers, or short presentations.

The 4s Club – Celebrating Achievement

Our reward system, the 4s Club, recognizes students who excel in academics, behavior, and participation. At the end of each term, members of the 4s Club are celebrated with a special party. It’s our way of saying, “Well done – keep shining!”

Student Leadership and Prefects

We believe in nurturing leadership from a young age. Our primary section has a prefect body with posts such as Head Monitor, Head Girl, Head Boy, and class prefects. These student leaders help set a good example, assist in school duties, and represent their classmates with pride and responsibility.

Languages spoken (English + Swahili or other).

At our school, we are proud to celebrate the diversity of languages spoken by both our staff and students. While English is the primary language used for teaching and communication, many of our teachers and children also speak a variety of local languages such as Luganda, Runyankore, Rukiga, Lusoga, Langi, and Acholi. Additionally, some staff members are fluent in French and Swahili, further enriching our school community.

From Classroom toCommunity

Parent support groups or forums.

Our school is known for its warm and welcoming culture, especially in our Nursery and Primary sections. We value strong parent engagement and believe that a child’s learning journey is most successful when schools and families work together. To keep communication clear and consistent, we have active WhatsApp groups for each class, where we share important information, reminders, and updates. This helps us stay connected with parents and create a supportive environment for every child to thrive.

Campus Achievements.

At our school, we encourage our students to challenge themselves and showcase their talents through various competitions, both locally and internationally. Our students actively participate in prestigious events such as the Annual National Mathematics Contest, NCBA Uganda Open, US Kids Golf, the National Junior Chess Championship, and the Africa Youth Chess Championship. Some of our young chess enthusiasts even compete at the FIDE World Youth Chess Championship, representing our school on a global stage.

Scenic and Safe School Environment.

Kitante is a prime location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle. As you slope down from Yusuf Lule Road, right across from the Golf Course, you’ll find our campus in a calm and scenic setting, offering a peaceful escape from the noise of the main road. The lush greenery and open space create a relaxed environment where children can learn, play, and grow. It’s easily accessible for parents, while still providing the quiet and safety ideal for a school community.

Our school prioritizes the safety and well-being of every child. We have a secure sign-in and sign-out system to ensure that only authorized individuals can pick up students, providing peace of mind for parents. Our campus is also monitored by security services, ensuring a safe and protected environment throughout the day. Additionally, the school is conveniently located near major hospitals and clinics, making it easy to access medical care in case of an emergency.

Teaching Kindness Through Action.

Giving back is an important part of our school culture. We teach our students the value of kindness and community by encouraging them to share what they have with others. Throughout the year, our school collects gently loved clothes, shoes, toys, and books, which we donate to organizations in need, including the Good Samaritan Foundation Orphanage.

At Kampala Junior Academy – Kitante, we believe in providing more than just an education. We offer a nurturing environment where children feel safe, inspired, and supported to be their very best.
